Conservative leadership candidate Kemi Badenoch has been criticised over comments she made suggesting maternity pay should be cut.
Ms Badenoch said maternity pay had "gone too far" and the government needed to interfere less in people’s lives.
She was speaking ahead of the Conservative Party conference, which began in Birmingham on Sunday.
The party will choose its next leader on 2 November.
