Voters in Namibia have chosen a new parliament and president in elections that could that could transform the southwest African nation’s political landscape. The ruling SWAPO party is seeking to extend its 34-year hold on power and has fielded a female candidate for the first time. But SWAPO’s popularity has plummeted amid growing frustration over unemployment and poverty.
