A British politician says China’s refusal to allow her into the country is a "wake-up call" to other MPs.
Liberal Democrat MP Wera Hobhouse was refused entry last week to the country to visit her newborn grandson.
She is a member of the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China and told Sky News she suspects the ban was due to her involvement in "freedom, democracy and human rights".
"Therefore, anybody who is seen as standing up for freedom, democracy and human rights should feel that they are going to be targeted by the Chinese authorities and that is really, really chilling," she said.
