The United Nations is urging restraint as cross-border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia escalate. Thailand says two more of its soldiers have been killed in fighting, while Cambodia says two civilians have died.
That brings the toll from recent border clashes between the two countries to at least six Cambodians and three Thai troops. Phnom Penh has accused Bangkok’s forces of shelling across the countries’ disputed border. The flare-up leaves a ceasefire brokered earlier this year by the United States in tatters.
