Kilauea roared back to life with lava blasting more than 1,000 feet into the air, destroying a USGS livestream camera as “hot tephra” rained down on the site. The eruption began Saturday morning, sending fountains toward Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and burying the camera in its final, fiery moments.
