Labour’s Diane Abbott is one of the Labour backbenchers who has long called for Sir Keir Starmer to take a tougher stance on Israel.
Abbott tells Sky’s Sophy Ridge the decision to suspend trade talks with Israel is "going in the right direction".
She adds that Israel’s claim it is "defending itself" does not bear up to scrutiny if 50,000 people in Gaza have been killed.
