On Sunday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hailed a day of talks aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. Rubio joined Ukrainian and European officials for a series of meetings to discuss a US-brokered peace plan. He described it as the most productive day on the issue in the last 10 months – but wouldn’t get into the details of the discussions. He said he was ‘very optimistic’ that a deal could be reached soon.
