Are you wasting your limited spiritual energy caught up in political anxiety, trying to fight or change the government? Watching this class will fundamentally recalibrate your focus from earthly politics to the eternal Kingdom of God.
Standing in Rome’s "Plaza of the People" directly before the infamous tomb of Nero, you will confront a jarring, perspective-shifting truth. You will study Romans 13, written by Paul just one year after the cruel, immoral, and anti-God Emperor Nero came to power, commanding believers to be subject to governing authorities because they are appointed by God. Even more convicting, you will explore 1 Peter 2:17, written at the end of Nero’s murderous reign of terror, where Peter boldly commands: "Honor the king".
The life-changing spiritual impact of this class is the liberating shift from political battles to gospel ministry. Both Peter and Paul recognized that even the most tyrannical, wicked leaders are ultimately raised up by God’s sovereign hand. This study challenges us to stop wasting precious time and strength campaigning against ruling parties or resisting political systems, and instead to seek to see souls saved.
You will learn that true godliness is demonstrated when we submit to and honor the authorities placed over us for the Lord’s sake, recognizing that this is what honors our Creator. Enroll today to step out of the political fray, anchor your soul in God’s sovereign appointments, and channel your energy into the unstoppable mission of the Gospel!
