Artem Chigvintsev, known for his role as a professional dancer on “Dancing with the Stars,” was arrested on charges of felony domestic violence in Napa County, California. According to jail records, the 42-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday morning at around 10 a.m. and booked on charges related to California Penal Code 273.5(a), which pertains to causing injury to a spouse, cohabitant, or fellow parent during an act of domestic violence.

Chigvintsev’s bail was set at $25,000, and he was released from Napa County Jail at approximately 2:15 p.m. after posting bail. The Napa County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies responded to a call regarding domestic violence in Yountville and arrived promptly at the scene. Chigvintsev was arrested without incident and cooperated fully during the process.
While the Sheriff’s Department has not disclosed the identity of the alleged victim, they indicated that the individual is being given time to process the events before further discussing them with detectives. Initial information has been provided by the alleged victim to deputies, but more details remain undisclosed.
Chigvintsev is married to Nikki Garcia, a former WWE wrestler, though it is not confirmed if she is involved in the incident. The couple shares a 4-year-old son named Matteo. They competed together on “Dancing with the Stars” in season 25 and were married in August 2022, recently celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary. Both Chigvintsev and Garcia shared heartfelt messages on social media to commemorate their anniversary just days before the arrest.

Chigvintsev has been a prominent figure on “Dancing with the Stars,” participating in 12 seasons. He won the Mirrorball Trophy in season 29 with “Bachelorette” alum Kaitlyn Bristowe and most recently competed in season 32 with Charity Lawson, finishing in fourth place.
ABC, the network that airs “Dancing with the Stars,” has not commented on the arrest, and representatives for Nikki Garcia have not yet provided a statement.
