An Israeli airstrike on a residential building in northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya has killed nearly a hundred people with many civilians still missing, according to health officials there. The US has demanded an explanation for Israel’s ‘horrific’ strike.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has warned Israel that it will be responsible for the needs of Palestinian refugees under international law if Israel bans the UN aid agency UNRWA. UN’s secretary general Antonio Guterres says the law passed by Israel’s parliament banning UNRWA would have "devastating consequences" for Palestinians. The aid organization caters to almost six million people across the Middle East.
DW’s Emily Gordine reports from the occupied West Bank.
