Kyiv says North Korean troops are already engaging with Ukrainian soldiers, fueling fears of a major escalation in Russia’s war in Ukraine. Russia and North Korea recently signed a mutual defense pact, and concerns are now rising that Pyongyang could soon be supplying Moscow with hordes of more drones. North Korean state media is reporting that leader Kim Jong Un has ordered his military to begin mass production of exploding drones. North Korea has been ramping up the development of new weaponry in the last few years. The attack drones carry explosives and crash into targets. They are also better at evading air defenses than missiles are.
