Thousands of demonstrators have returned to the streets of the Georgian capital, Tbilisi for a second night of protests.
Police fired water cannon and tear gas in an attempt to disperse demonstrators who had gathered outside parliament. Protesters hurled firecrackers and erected barricades in a tense stand-off. The demonstrators oppose the government’s suspension of talks on joining the European Union until 2028. The pro-Russian prime minister says Georgia will still seek membership, but on its own terms.
