Christian author and minister, Hal Lindsey, went to be with his Savior on November 25, 2024. He was 95.
Hal released his first book, The Late Great Planet Earth, in 1970. It went on to become the bestselling nonfiction book of that decade, according to The New York Times. It was translated into more than fifty languages. In 1978, it was adapted into a film starring Orson Welles.
Hal went on to write a series of bestsellers including There’s a New World Coming, Hope for theTerminal Generation, The Rapture, Satan is Alive and Well on Planet Earth, Combat Faith, The Final Battle, Amazing Grace, and many others.
He hosted The International Intelligence Briefing on the Trinity Broadcasting Network from 1994 to 2005. In 2006, he began The Hal Lindsey Report, continuing with that program until 2019. Hal Lindsey Presents can currently be seen on Daystar, His Channel, and on HalLindsey.com. Hal came to faith in Christ as a tugboat captain on the Mississippi River. Prophecy was important to him from the beginning. He went to Dallas Theological Seminary for four years where he studied a broad range of theology, but he was always drawn to prophecy because, he said, “It gave me a certainty that this book [the Bible] could not have been written by mere men.”
Time Magazine called Hal, “the Jeremiah of his generation.” Hal Lindsey’s life and work continue to touch the world. Hal was very aware and thankful for those who supported him through the years, making his work possible. His family and ministry team would like to add their thanks to those supporters. Hal’s message of the imminent return of Jesus continues.
Hal is survived by his wife and three daughters, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
