As Syrians continue to celebrate the fall of the Assad regime, the country now has a new interim prime minister. Mohammed al-Bashir previously governed a small rebel-controlled area in Syria’s north-west. He takes over from the previous prime minister, who has been working with the rebels to coordinate the transfer of power since the fall of the government. Al-Bashir is tasked with forming a transitional government, and says it’s time for "stability and calm." What regional and foreign powers will play a role in the transition process that follows the Assad rule?
