Five people have died and many left injured after a series of wildfires that broke out in Los Angeles on Tuesday continue to burn out of control, in what fire chiefs called a "tragic" chapter for the city.
High winds up to 100pmh have spread the flames and initially stopped firefighters from getting support from the air.
The winds that have been fuelling the blazes are beginning to drop, but it will be some time before the fires are brought under full control
