Images of shackled Indians boarding U.S. military planes for deportation sparked outrage in India and beyond. The scenes were a consequence of US President Trump’s new hardline immigration stance – and they have fueled fear in Indian villages where many still chase the American dream. Thousands of migrants still risk their lives by undertaking the treacherous routes to enter the U.S. and end up paying thousands of dollars to self-declared migration agents. DW’s Adil Bhat travelled to Haryana state (Korri Map) to meet people who have felt the brunt of Trumps’ new policies in a range of ways.
