Syrians gathered for a community iftar in Kafr Hamrah, rural Aleppo on March 5, sharing a moment of unity amid the widespread destruction that has ravaged much of the country.
Years of conflict have left the city in ruins, with tens of thousands of buildings demolished by the Assad regime and its allies’ airstrikes and artillery. Since the regime was ousted in December 2024, local and international organisations have been vital in supporting these communities, providing aid and organizing communal events.
