Heathrow Airport will resume limited flights today after a fire at a nearby substation disrupted travel for around 200,000 passengers.
Sky’s Paul Kelso examines the economic impact of the shutdown, which could cost airlines, the airport, and associated businesses tens of millions of pounds.
However, the bigger loss may be the damage to Heathrow’s and the UK’s reputation.
Just weeks ago, discussions were underway regarding the expansion of the airport with a third runway to stimulate economic growth.
