DW spoke to former South African Ambassador to the US Ebrahim Rasool about his expulsion by the Trump administration. The US government accused him of being "a race-baiting politician." This followed earlier remarks the ambassador had made during a webinar hosted by a South African think tank. Cheering crowds welcomed Rasool in Cape Town when he returned home. He said, "we come home with no regrets." Rasool said that it was important for South Africa to fix its relationship with the US. President Donald Trump cut all funding to the African country alleging its government supports the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Iran and follows anti-white policies at home.
