Nearly 60 years after the Aberfan coal tip disaster claimed 144 lives, the deputy first minister of Wales told Sky News it is "difficult" to ensure lives would not be lost if a similar tragedy occurred today.
While £130m has been invested in improving safety at coal tip sites across Wales, residents living near these tips argue these measures are insufficient.
