Trevor Phillips asked the Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds whether he trusts Jingye, the Chinese former owner of the steel plant, after he repeatedly said in Parliament that they acted in "bad faith".
Jonathan Reynolds says they are affiliated with the Chinese Communist Party and the country’s government itself.
He says: "To run a major Chinese industrial company, there are always direct links to the Chinese Communist Party. I mean, you couldn’t run. You wouldn’t be allowed to run a company in China without those kind of links."
