Los Angeles police said late Tuesday they had carried out "mass arrests" as protesters defied an overnight curfew imposed by the city’s mayor to stay on the streets. The protests, against Donald Trump’s immigration policies and raids by ICE agents, have rocked the city for the past five days and prompted the US president to controversially call in the National Guard and US Marines.
