The survivor of the Air India Flight 171 crash revealed he miraculously survived by escaping through a broken emergency exit.
"I can’t believe myself how I came out of it alive, because for a while I thought I was going to die as well," Ramesh Viswashkumar, 40, told Indian national broadcaster DD News. "But when I opened my eyes, I saw that I was alive. So I tried to open my seat belt, and I was able to get out."
There were 242 people on board the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, bound for London, that crashed shortly after takeoff in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad, smashing in a fiery blast into a medical college hostel.
