The church at Pergamos was sitting right on top of a nuclear sin reactor, “where Satan’s throne is.” This would be like living in a twenty-kilometer radius zone around a melted-down Fukushima-like nuclear reactor. Sin is like radiation; get comfortable around it, and you get weakened by it. Satan’s throne was just pumping out wave after wave of all this marrow-shriveling radiation for the soul. So, Pergamos had developed spiritual immunity problems.
JESUS KNOWS OUR SPIRITUAL LIFE: Revelation 2:12—Jesus knows where we live, and if we are gathering with His body. Jesus reminds us about the power of His Word.
WE HAVE A “GOOD WORKS” TRACKER: Revelation 2:13a: Jesus keeps track of our good works (or absence of them). He also knows the level of spiritual toxins we live around.
