Today, we stand in the heart of Ancient New Testament Rome–to begin our study of the Book of Romans. This is an introductory video from the upcoming Life & Letters of Paul Course that journeys through the Book of Acts to illustrate and explain each of the 13 Epistles Paul wrote.
The context, geography, chronology, and key doctrines PLUS much personal application for each participant as we all together use the DEVOTIONAL METHOD to study each book and every chapter. This journey launches in the fall, with many weeks of introductory videos preparing the way.
As we study Paul’s Life & Letters, we are faced with authentic, original, first-century Biblical Christianity. In a world awash with false doctrine, misinformation, and deceptions–what a thrill to go back to the source. To hear Paul speaking under the guiding power of the Holy Spirit’s inspiration.
In Romans, Paul, who had never been to Rome, was writing to the church there and commending them on their living out the truth of Christ. He describes many elements of their lives that he noted as good, healthy, and part of the everyday life of one supernaturally saved.
Here’s a sample of what we will learn after this field trip when we sit in the classroom and dive into each of the verses of Paul’s GREATEST Epistle.
1–Mature, normal, healthy believers display compassion for believers who differ from their convictions (Romans 15:1-3).
2–Mature, normal, healthy believers display comfort from God through the Scriptures (Romans 15:4).
3–Mature, normal, healthy believers display a united direction in Christ with other believers (Romans 15:5).
4–Mature, normal, healthy believers display a passion for Christ not-self (Romans 15:6).
5–Mature, normal, healthy believers display a connection to God as their source of hope through the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).
Sixth, Healthy believers are filled with the Holy Spirit, who produces the fruit of goodness that fills their lives (Romans 15:14a).
Seventh, Healthy believers are experiencing personally the truths of God, which is experiential knowledge (Romans 15:14b).
Eighth, Healthy believers understand the power of God’s Word and know & use God’s Word to see His power through admonishing each other (Romans 15:14c).
Healthy believers feed on the doctrines of God’s Word and display spiritual strength & growth.
