Hundreds of activists across Israel and the occupied West Bank are on a hunger strike in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Members of the grassroot movement say it’s a form of nonviolent resistance to the use of starvation as a weapon. Barely a few minutes into one of the group’s peaceful demonstrations in Bethlehem, Israeli police arrived.
