In Burundi, the Batwa community’s fight for land and dignity has taken a big step forward. President Évariste Ndayishimiye has publicly apologised to the long-marginalised group and promised to end discriminatory laws. Activists welcome the move, but say real progress will only come with swift legal reforms.
