Dozens of Israeli tanks were seen at the Gaza border after Defence Minister Israel Katz threatened on August 21 to turn Gaza City into rubble unless Hamas accepts ceasefire terms and releases hostages. Airplanes and tanks pounded eastern and northern outskirts of the city overnight, destroying buildings and homes.
