Aerial footage released Tuesday (September 2) by the interim administration shows widespread devastation in Afghanistan after two deadly earthquakes.
A 5.5-magnitude quake struck southeastern Afghanistan on Tuesday at a shallow depth of 10 km (6 miles), raising fears of further destruction just two days after a 6.0-magnitude quake hit the same region at midnight Sunday.
The earlier quake killed more than 1,400 people, injured thousands, and flattened houses in remote villages—making it one of Afghanistan’s worst earthquakes in years.
