At least 48 Palestinians have been killed since dawn as Israel intensifies its assault to capture Gaza City. Internet and phone lines have been cut across the city, where hundreds of thousands are sheltering. Many remain reluctant to leave due to dangers on the route, food shortages in the south, and fear of permanent displacement. Victoria Innes has the story.
