The rich and the poor must remember that God made them both (Proverbs 22:2 The rich and the poor have this in common: The Lord is the maker of them all. Proverbs 17:5 He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker; He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished.
Rich people tend to receive more attention from others than poor people do. There is often favoritism (Proverbs 14:20 The poor man is hated even by his own neighbor, but the rich has many friends; James 2:11).
If you are rich, be careful of people who desire your friendship (Proverbs 19:4 Wealth makes many friends, but the poor is separated from his friend).
If you are poor, do not be surprised if people abandon you for a rich friend (Proverbs 19:4b; 19:7 All the brothers of the poor hate him; How much more do his friends go far from him! He may pursue them with words, yet they abandon him).
Those with money often become the target of thieves et al. (Proverbs 13:8).
The poor person can often see through the facade of the rich person who thinks he knows it all (Proverbs 28:11).
A good reputation with people is better than much money (Proverbs 22:1).
Because of money, people often try to pretend to be something they’re not; they live a lie (Proverbs 13:7).
Rich people often "lord it over" poor people (Proverbs 22:7 The rich rules over the poor,
And the borrower is servant to the lender).
