Former Defence Secretary Penny Mourdant has described the Manchester synagogue attack as "an absolute tragedy".
Dame Penny co-authored a report on the issue of antisemitism over the summer.
She said: "It’s just an absolute tragedy for the Jewish community and the city of Manchester which is no stranger to these sorts of events."
