US President Donald Trump has announced that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first phase of a Gaza peace plan. The agreement calls for an end to the two-year war in the Palestinian enclave and the release of Israeli hostages. Hamas released a statement to the press in which it confirmed it had reached a deal to end the war. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says all hostages held in Gaza will soon be back in Israel. He called it a ‘moral victory’ for Israel and a ‘diplomatic success.’
