The blaze broke out in the Tai Po district at the Wang Fuk Court centre, made of up of eight blocks with some 2-thousand apartments. Bamboo scaffolding on the outside of the towers helped the spread the flames. Authorities say intense heat is making it difficult to reach people trapped on the upper floors of the 32-storey buildings. China’s President Xi Jinping has sent his condolences to those who’ve lost loved ones.
