Two of the biggest players in the entertainment industry could soon be under the same ownership. Netflix has agreed to purchase the iconic Warner Bros. studio and its film and television operations.
The $72 billion deal follows a weeks-long bidding war. Warner Bros. is one of Hollywood’s oldest and most successful film studios, home to HBO Max and franchises such as Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and Superman. The deal still needs regulatory approval from antitrust authorities in the United States and potentially in Europe.
