The Venezuelan opposition leader who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize this week has praised the US operations. Maria Corina Machado says the action has been ‘decisive’ in weakening President Nicolas Maduro’s regime.
After months in hiding, Machado has made her first public appearance in Oslo, where the prize was awarded. She plans to return to Venezuela and says she wants to help end what she called the tyranny gripping her homeland.
