About 8 million babies came into the world amid conflict and climate disasters in 2025, with many mothers forced to give birth in tents, ill-equipped camps or disaster-stricken communities, according to Save the Children.
Roughly seven in ten of these newborns were born into or escaping wars like those in Sudan and Palestine’s Gaza, where food shortages, blocked aid, shattered hospitals and relentless stress leave mothers and infants dangerously exposed.
