Belarus has released dozens of political prisoners, including prominent opposition activist Maria Kolesnikova.
The move follows an agreement with the US to lift sanctions on the country’s potash sector.
Ms Kolesnikova and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ales Bialiatski, who was also released, were jailed in 2020 following mass protests against Alexander Lukashenko regime.
Belarus is an authoritarian state and a close ally of Russia.
