Walking Worthy of God–By Living for What Lasts
The Context: As we open our Bibles to 1 Thessalonians 2, we are stepping into the heart of the Apostle Paul’s ministry. Paul had arrived in Thessalonica with fresh wounds on his back from the beatings and stocks in Philippi. He spent only about three weeks there before being run out of town. Yet, in that short time, a group of believers was born who became a model for all of Greece.
In chapter 1, as he looked out over a culture consumed by idolatry and pleasure, his heart beat for one thing: the transforming power of the Gospel.
In Chapter 2, Paul reminds them of the integrity of his ministry and challenges them to—walk worthy of the God who called them.
Here are five action points for the Rapture-ready saints to walk worthy of God and live for what lasts:
1. Be Bold in Your God (1 Thess. 2:1–4)
2. Walk Worthy of God (1 Thess. 2:5–12)
3. Unleash the Word of God (1 Thess. 2:13-16)
4. Recognize the Enemy’s Roadblocks (1 Th. 2:17–18)
5. Live for the Crown of Rejoicing (1 Thess. 2:19–20)
