The family of a pro-Palestine activist who has spent almost 40 days on hunger strike while awaiting trial in a British prison has told TRT World that the UK government is responsible for his deteriorating condition.
Kamran Ahmed, along with five others, is part of the UK’s longest prison hunger strike since the 1980s. They are demanding an end to alleged communication restrictions in prison, the lifting of the ban on the campaign group Palestine Action, and immediate bail. Paul Hawkins has been speaking to Kamran’s sister, Shahmina, and has this report.
