Several thousand activists from across Serbia joined student-led protests in Novi Pazar, opposing what they say is growing government pressure on state universities. The rally is part of a wider movement against political interference in higher education that emerged after a deadly railway station roof collapse in Novi Sad last year. Students accuse university authorities of punishing protest participation by revoking student status and dismissing lecturers, and are demanding the resignation of the university’s management.
