A plane carrying Libya’s top military officials, including Chief of Staff Mohammed Al Hadad, crashed on a hillside near Ankara after reporting technical problems shortly after takeoff. Turkish authorities launched a large-scale search and investigation, recovering the cockpit voice and black box recorders, with over 400 personnel involved in the operation. Turkish President Erdogan and other officials extended condolences to the Libyan government, armed forces, and families. Andrew Hopkins reports from Haymana, Ankara.
