What was largely a slow game between Mali and Tunisia quickly turned into one of the most exciting AFCON encounters so far as Tunisia’s Chaouat and Mali’s Sinayoko scored on either side of the pitch. With no team able to break the deadlock in extra time, the match went to penalties in which Tunisia were punished for failing to capitalise on the disadvantage of the Eagles, who were reduced to 10 men from 26 minutes in.
