The bodies of around 50 Palestinians killed during Israeli attacks were exhumed from a mass grave in southern Gaza and prepared for reburial in official cemeteries. The remains had been buried in the courtyard of Selahaddin Mosque in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighbourhood during intense fighting, when access to cemeteries was limited.
Israeli attacks have been continuing despite a ceasefire, adding to the toll of a brutal military assault that has killed more than 71,000 Palestinians and devastated much of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure.
