The government has dropped plans to delay 30 council elections in England.
It said the decision was made after taking legal advice.
Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage, immediately claimed credit for what is the government’s 15th U-turn since taking power.
Similar policy reversals have been made over inheritance tax on farmers and mandatory digital ID cards.
