Plans to delay 30 council elections in England have been scrapped.
The government initially said it wanted to push the elections back until next year to help deliver a reorganisation which will see some local authorities abolished.
However, the government announced the U-turn following legal advice.
Reform UK had launched a legal challenge against the plans, and that case was due to be heard in the High Court on Thursday.
