On Thursday, Washington will host the Board of Peace Conference, bringing together around 20 countries to discuss Gaza’s post-war future. Israel’s foreign minister is expected to attend, along with Arab and regional players. And while most European governments will not be there, US President Donald Trump, the group’s founder and self-appointed chairman, is striking an optimistic tone.
