On Sept. 9, 2025, several members of the military community testified before House lawmakers about their encounters with unidentified anomalous phenomena, also known as UAPs or UFOs, and the importance of improving whistleblower protections. The hearing, held by a House Oversight Committee task force, aimed to highlight transparency issues within the federal government. On Thursday, President Trump directed his administration to release any files on UFOs, UAPs, and "alien and extraterrestrial life."
