The USS Gerald R Ford Aircraft carrier, which is the world’s largest warship, was seen leaving Crete, Greece, on Thursday morning, as tensions between Washington and Tehran continue. This comes as the US has built up its military presence in the Middle East, with over a dozen warships, which has left the country in position for a “highly kinetic” campaign against Iran, a former senior Pentagon official has claimed. Dana Stroul, now research director at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, made the assessment Sunday as Washington and Tehran prepare for a second round of indirect nuclear talks in Oman on Thursday.
