An Iranian ballistic missile struck Bahrain’s main oil refinery in the Maameer industrial zone on Thursday, causing large fires at one of the country’s most important energy facilities. The strike marks the first direct hit on Bahrain’s core petroleum infrastructure since Iran began a retaliatory campaign in the region six days earlier. Bahrain’s Interior Ministry said the fire at the targeted facility was brought under control and reported limited material damage with no casualties.
